HOW’S YOUR AUTHENTICITY?????

” Authenticity is more than speaking;
Authenticity is also about doing.
Every decision we make,
says something
about who we are.”
                                                                               – Simon Sinek

I’m on vacation this week spending some extended time in Cape Cod with the Wolfpack.  While here, one of our favorite places to shop is Eden Hands Arts(“In the beginning there was Eden. A small part of the Garden still remains on Rte. 6A in Dennis. As in any garden, here one finds flowers and fruit, insects, friendly beasts and birds.”)

SPREAD THE WORD

Saying thank-you is more than good manners,
It is good spiritually!”
 – Alfred Painter

And the word is, “Thanks!”  Something magical happened last week.  In the space of three days I received two handwritten thank-you notes.  The first was from Victoria, a neighbor who recently graduated from high school and will be attending college next year.  Her note expressed appreciation for a gift given in recognition of her commencement. It was touching and reflected the delightful young woman she has become.

SO, WHAT’S YOUR PLAN?

If you don’t know where you’re going,
You’ll probably end up somewhere else!”

                                                                                           – Yogi Berra

Over the past few weeks I’ve been facilitating the strategic planning sessions for Berks County’s, Girls On The Run (GOTR).  During that time, the organization’s Executive Director and her Board worked diligently to develop a three-year plan that will enhance the viability of the organization and expand the services it provides to our county’s young women.  Their efforts included pre-planning homework activities and dedicated off-site Saturday morning work sessions.

LATE BLOOMERS

“There is nothing better in life
than being a late bloomer.
I believe that success can happen
at any time and at any age.”
                                                              – Selma Hayek

You know, I don’t really listen to the radio, and I’m not really current on the music scene, but I’m certain that this song is in this week’s top ten.  Does it bring back memories?  Do you remember making the walk across the stage to receive your diploma(s)?   Some of you have even had the pleasure (and heartache) many years later, sitting in the audience as your children or grandchildren walked across that stage.

TENDING THE GARDEN

“to plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow”

                                                                                                    -Audrey Hepburn

I spent the better part of Saturday working in the yard.  There was a lawn that needed to be mowed and weeds that needed to be pulled.  I found two small trees that did not survive the winter and will need to be replaced.  The deck looked barren, so I took a few photographs, went to a local greenhouse, and with the help of a wonderful gardening specialist found plants that will bring color and life to my summer habitat.
